Bob and Kelly McGrath both grew up in Colorado Springs, met at Coronado High School, and were married downtown in 1987. Bob started as a carpenter, then spent 14 years with Mortenson, working his way up to Senior Superintendent on $30 to $50 million projects at Denver International Airport, Atmel Corporation, and The Broadmoor.
In 2002, with two young kids at home, Bob and Kelly started Bob McGrath Construction out of a house Bob built himself, funded by six months of vacation time he’d never taken. More than two decades later, we’re still family owned and operated, still based on the Southwest side, and still building on relationships that started with our neighbors.
Drawing from over 30 years in the commercial and residential construction industry, we lead the industry with the highest standards in commercial and residential fields.

The youngest of twelve kids from the Westside, Bob tried two years at Columbia University before deciding he wasn’t born to be a lawyer. He’s been building ever since. With 42 years in the industry and a Class A1 General Contractor license, Bob still brings a superintendent’s eye for detail to every project. He also doesn’t take vacations, which is how this company got started in the first place.
